The Carbon Pro has been designed for top level international racing. We have used new and improved construction methods and produced a shell that is 20% stiffer, than our medal winning Elite Carbon boat.
To produce this extra stiffness we have used new pre-impregnated carbon that allows us to use higher temperatures in the curing process.
We have also created a completely new shape with a noticeably high tapered bow and to ensure as little power loss as possible we have also created an ultra-light Reverse Carbon Wing.
From tip to toe this boat is the full carbon dream that not only looks fast, it is fast!
The robust high performance racing boat, built for high-level competition whilst also able to withstand the rigours of a hard training.
We have designed and created this boat with the Racing Club in mind, the shell is the same new shape as the Carbon Pro, but we have changed the outer skin to Aramid (Kevlar), this gives maximum protection from day to day knocks and scrapes that occur in a club enviroment,
The proven, trusty club work-horse, Swift Racing Club A boats are perfect for both racing and training, but tough enough to take all the daily knocks and bangs your juniors are likely to put on them. Made with an inner and outer skin of Kevlar with a Lantor coremat centre, Club A is the versatile answer to your all-round boat requirements.
If your club is aiming to get more people on the water and give novice rowers their first experience of a racing shell, Swift Racing Club B boats are the ideal solution. Built with a combination of honeycomb, Lantor coremat and PVC foam core with fibreglass skins and carbon reinforcing to make them super-strong, Club B boats are ultra durable whilst ease of repair makes them the Boatman's favourite!
The standard colour for Swift boats is white hull and canvas decks, with black tips for the bow and stern. Hull and canvas decks are finished with 3 coats of UV resistant polyurethane paint, with 2 additional coats for the trim, to help protect the most vulnerable areas of your boat.
The standard colour for Elite Carbon boats is the same as above.
However, as an option (available at additional cost), the hull and canvas decks can be finished in clear UV resistant polyurethane paint, with white trim and white joint lines or black trim to complete the all black effect.
For custom colours we offer 3 choices.
Custom A:
Main is white, trim is other than black.
Custom B:
Main is NOT white, trim is EITHER black or other colour.
Custom C:
All other, such as white hull, blue canvas, yellow trim.

We are pleased to offer Nielsen Kellerman/Active Tools/Coxmate compatible electronics wiring, factory installed on Swift boats.
There are 3 options to choose from;
In line with FISA's requirements, Swift boats are all built with enclosed seat decks to provide maximal buoyancy in the event of a swamping. This can make it difficult for rowers to put wiring under the seat deck themselves, unless there are Coxmate bungs. Putting wiring above the seat deck is of course very easy to do.
The Coxmate bung is a clever way to keep wiring below the seat deck, without compromising buoyancy.
A plastic insert is bonded into the seat deck. A rubber bung fits securely in this insert. It has a number of holes in the underside. The appropriate hole size is chosen, and the hole is then made complete all the way through the bung (either with a special tool, or a drill). Then the side of the bung nearest to the chosen hole is cut through with a Stanley knife, and the wire is pushed into the hole through this split in the side. Finally the bung with wire is pushed into the insert.
Made from carbon cloth, with PVC foam core, and epoxy resin cured at high temperature, our stretchers are both lightweight and rigid, and allow the efficient transfer of power. They are easily adjustable for height, fore and aft positioning, and rake (stretcher angle).
Our singles have the stretcher channels located on the saxboards, taking advantage of the slope of the saxboard to allow for wider placement of shoes, and further adding to saxboard stiffness.
All boats, regardless of grade are fitted with the same high quality shoes with Velcro straps that have a single, quick release pull tag. Heel restraints are attached as standard.
There is also the option at time of order to choose the Flexfoot system, instead of rowing shoes. The Flexfoot stretcher uses parts based on CII's rowing machine, but modified for use in rowing boats. That is, the heel is a rounded shape, and is closed for safety reasons. A heel restraint is also attached. This system is preferred by some people for recreational boats, such as our Freedom boats, but can be supplied on racing boats.
For Para boats, you can specify a plain wooden stretcher, which allows you to customize it as you like, for example, by screwing just 1 shoe to it, closer to the centre than is normal with 2 shoes.
All Swift boats use the same carbon seat tops to provide excellent stiffness while keeping weight to a minimum. The undercarriage is made from nylon with the axles made from anodised aluminium. Single action seats have sealed ball bearing wheels for a smooth movement and are supplied as standard.
We use 3 different lengths of seat rail (820mm, 850mm, 880mm) depending on the average crew weight of the boat. Seats are painted with clear lacquer to show the carbon cloth finish. Seat rails are made from hard anodised aluminium, with bungees to hold seats securely during transport (avoiding the need to remove them and run the risk of damage/loss).
All Swift boats have easily replaceable anodised aluminium fins, that are secured to the boat with a fin box. There are 4 sizes of fin, one each for 1x, 2x/-, fours and eights.
Rudders are stainless steel, and are available in small (50x80mm plate) for straight course rowing, or large (80 x 100mm plate) for river/lake rowing.
The rudder yoke is anodised aluminium, and the rudder wire is stainless steel.
All of our boats, from the basic to the highest spec, have full carbon laminated shoulders. Shoulders are the essential "bones" of a boat and maintain the shape of the hull. Together with the riggers they ensure that all the force applied to the oars is translated efficiently into boat speed, minimizing power loss through twisting and flexing.
All our hatches and bungs are easily opened, but are secure. There is a hatch on the seat deck between the seat rails, one for each rower. We have 3 sizes of hatch, and use the largest one possible, depending on the boat type, and the hatch position.
The stern canvas hatch is positioned over the fin/rudder. Putting the rudder post under the stern canvas deck will avoid the damage that happens when an exposed rudder post is accidentally knocked. The hatch is positioned over the rudder so that it is easy to access the rudder to make adjustments, and also makes it easier to carry out repairs to this area of the boat.
On the bow canvas deck is a small bung for drainage and air circulation.
Swift boats are supplied with Concept II oarlocks as standard.
Hard anodised Aluminium 3 stay rigger (1 forestay and 2 mainstays) with a slotted rigger block for the pin. There is at least 30mm of height adjustment and 30mm of span adjustment per rigger. Supplied with topstays/backstays for both scull and sweep which we recommend are fitted to support the pin (and for safety in the bow seat of crew sculling boats).
Hard anodised Aluminium 2 stay rigger (1 mainstay and 1 "backstay"). The rigger supports a C bracket that holds the pin from the bowward side of the pin. There is at least 30mm of height adjustment and 30mm of span adjustment per rigger.
This rigger offers excellent performance (no turning movement of the pin) at a very low all-up weight, so is a popular choice for many rowers. Compared with Euro riggers, there is more clearance from the water surface, and also less surface area to catch wind. There is less stiffness of the rigger in the vertical plane, compared with the Euro rigger, so performs better with crews with reasonable technique and timing.

Some coaches prefer wing riggers because of their clearance from the water, which is useful in rough conditions. However wing riggers have a larger surface area to catch the wind and, are also slightly heavier than traditional riggers.
Key advantages are that they can be moved bowwards and sternwards to finely adjust the boat's trim, and as the hulls for wing rigged boats have no (or only small) ribs, the cockpit has more space so is well suited to rowers with wider hips.
Quick Release (QR) is an option for all boats with wing riggers. The aluminium plates are designed to prevent slipping of riggers. For more information, please see the file "QR Installation".
The single most important factor to consider when choosing a racing boat is the design weight. To maximise your crew’s speed it is essential that they row in a boat that is designed for their weight.
Swift uses 21 different moulds for "Olympic" type racing boats (7 for 1s, 6 for 2s, 5 for 4s, and 3 for 8s), all based on tried and tested designs, with proven track records, including FISA's own designs for singles, doubles and fours.
With Swift’s range of 21 moulds, which is perhaps the widest of any builder, you will be rowing in a boat that was designed for a crew of your specific weight, and is not a "cut down" version of some larger boat.

The weight of any particular boat will depend upon the grade (Elite, Club, etc), the rigger type and the size of the boat (crew weight). The factory can guarantee the weight of your boat, so if this is an important issue for you, please discuss it with us when you place your order.
Sectional Boats
All eights are sectional boats (2 pieces), in line with FISA's rules of racing. All other boats, singles, doubles and fours can be built as 1 piece boats, or for easy transportation and storage as 2 piece boats. There is an additional charge for sections in singles, doubles and fours, and extra sections in eights (please contact us for further details). There will be an increase in boat weight of approximately 1kg for singles and doubles, and 2kg for fours and eights.
For sections in 8s and 4s, at the time of order you will have a choice of position for the section (4/5 split or 6/7 split for 8s, and 2/3 split or section just behind the rudder for 4s).
Cox position
All eights are stern coxed boats, in line with FISA's rules of racing. Fours can be built either coxless, or coxed (top coxed/front loaders, or as stern coxed boats).
